We are a firm with 40 team members, including 5 Partners, across 6 locations in the great state of Iowa: Burlington, Cedar Rapids, Centerville, Fairfield, Mt.
Pleasant, and Oskaloosa.
We serve clients nationwide through 4 core service areas: Advisory, Tax Services, Assurance, and Wealth Management Services.
*Who we’re looking for.
* An experienced Senior Assurance Associate who aligns to our values and has a high level of professionalism to best partner with our team and serve our clients.
We have flexible location options in one of six Iowa office locations: Cedar Rapids, Burlington, Mount Pleasant, Fairfield, Centerville, or Oskaloosa.
*What you’ll do.
* · Serve as the liaison between the Leadership Team, the client, and the firm staff.
Responsible for managing multiple assurance and accounting projects and client engagements simultaneously while scheduling, staffing, and coordinating these engagements.
· Assist in building firm-wide assurance service efficiencies and best practices.
· Attend client meetings to determine project timelines and goals for assurance service engagements.
· Supervise and develop staff; review work papers and reports prepared by staff.
· Review business trends within client industries to gain knowledge to apply in developing professional solutions for client companies.
· Provide financial analysis upon completion of fieldwork to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures.
· Prepare accounting-related reports through a paperless environment.
· Contribute to the development of new business opportunities by participating in strategic business development initiatives.
· Participate in quality control improvement and peer review efforts.
· Maintain understanding and knowledge of changes in auditing standards by reading professional literature or attending audit seminars and training courses.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
· Travel occasionally (same-day and overnight) for work at clients, firm meetings, or seminars.
*What you’ll need.

· Ability to handle the challenges of in-charging engagements along with the capacity to collaborate with other team members while providing constructive feedback.
· Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and meeting deadline requirements.
· Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to effectively interact with all levels of Firm management and staff, clients, and other external business contacts.
· Knowledge of and exposure to a variety of industries.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
· Current CPA license or working toward CPA license.
· 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in public accounting, demonstrating a progression in complexity of assurance and accounting tasks.
· Knowledge of GAAP.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Teams, Share Point, etc.
) and the ability to stay ahead of the curve with continual technology advancements.
· Experience using various Thomson Reuters software applications, including Advance Flow and Checkpoint Engage applications is preferred.
· Demonstrated high level of discretion and confidentiality.
· Ability to execute and collaborate effectively in a hybrid environment (onsite and virtual).
