*SUMMARY*
The Early Childhood Prevention Initiative Family Educator works alongside families and children prenatal- age 3 in Henderson, Knox, Mercer, and Warren counties.
Family Educators visit with families weekly or bi-weekly in their homes to empower parents to be their child’s first teacher through goal setting and child development activities that focus on each child's needs.
This position will provide leadership and guidance in the development and implementation of the Regional Prenatal- Age 3 Home Visiting program.
It will ensure complete and up-to-date database information for enrolled children and families, and report information to the Illinois State Board of Education through the Student Information System (SIS).
It will also complete the Child Screening Summary (if applicable) and ensure that all intake and enrollment paperwork is completed and signed off on.
As well as maintain a full caseload following grant guidelines.
*QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & CRITICAL SKILLS*
1.
Knowledge of Google Suite, and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
2.
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
3.
Ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs.
4.
Ability to communicate to students, parents, and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner.
5.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to work with teachers, education support personnel, building administrators, and the general public.
6.
professionally enforce ROE regulations and policies.
7.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils.
8.
Be certified as a Parents as Teachers parent educator.

The Regional Office of Education is an intermediate agency between the Illinois State Board of Education and local school districts.
The Regional Office of Education #33 works with nine districts across the four counties: Henderson, Knox, Mercer, and Warren.
We have eight programs and nine different services, with over 100 employees throughout the four counties.
These programs and services can be anything from parenting classes and professional development for area educators to bus driver training, fingerprinting, and much more.
