JOB SUMMARY
The IPM Technician works in conjunction with the Cultivation Management, overseeing all Integrated Pest Management activities.
Eliminates and controls undesirable insects, with infrequent supervision.
The IPM Technician is versed in proper application methodology including calibration, application procedures and insect, arachnid, and vertebrate identification.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
Applying IPM products including sprays and biological control agents
Scouting all cultivation areas for signs and symptoms of pests, pathogens, and other plant health issues.
Identifies insects, arthropods, vertebrates, and other pests.
Operates, maintains, and repairs IPM equipment as needed
Coordinates scheduling of work orders with the Cultivation Management
Stays current on practices and all local, state, and federal codes and regulations related to IPM in agriculture
Ensures timely submission of all required records
Implements quality standards; conducts and documents follow-up inspections
Must complete required training to maintain commercial applicators license for Vegetable Crop Pest Control category.
Maintains effective written and oral communication with Cultivation Management
Follows standard operating procedures for assigned tasks and projects and follows all safety protocol
Cleaning all cultivation areas regularly to prevent the buildup of algae and debris
Maintaining cleanliness of cultivation areas and ensure sanitation procedures are being closely followed.
Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment
Additional ad hoc projects, tasks, and responsibilities will apply
Maintaining compliance with company SOPs and reporting changes or updates to management as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must obtain a State Certified Applicator license in Vegetable Crop Pest Control category within 90 days
Ability to identify insects, arthropods, vertebrates, and other pests and create treatment plans based on physiology
Physical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper management of a commercial grow
Display accountability, proactive behavior, and strong attention to detail
Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to strict policies and procedure
Well organized and ability to keep deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment
Must be 21 years or older and pass any and all required pre-employment screenings
Full knowledge of all applicable law, regulations, and requirements to keep the facility at 100% compliance at all times, this includes being up to date on any changes to current applicable laws/regulations
Must pass any and all required background checks
Must be able to obtain and retain a Registered Agent Card issued by the state of operation
Must be able to internalize training and follow instructions
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively
