Position Description: Culver-Stockton College invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Mathematics.
This is a full-time, tenure-track position beginning in the fall of 2024.
This is a traditional face-to-face position in a dynamic experientially based program with some online teaching as needed.
Responsibilities: Responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Mathematics.
Participate in normal department and division service activities, including committee work, program and course assessment, curriculum development, and outreach to the community.
Candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching and scholarship.
A strong commitment to recruitment and academic advising is expected.
Must have the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues and have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.
May be asked to contribute to the general education curriculum’s quantitative literacy requirements, as well.
Qualifications: Ph.
D.
in Computer Science or Mathematics or closely related field preferred; Master’s Degree required.
ABD candidates will be considered.
Strong analytical and programming skills.
Experience in teaching Computer Science and Mathematics and/or related field courses at the undergraduate level.
Strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education and experiential learning, teaching and student success.
A strong commitment to academic advising is expected.
Ability to work effectively with students and colleagues from a variety of backgrounds.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
