The Department of Computer Science at Knox College invites applications invites applications for at least one appointment as full-time, tenure-track assistant professor beginning September 1, 2024.
Knox is an independent, selective liberal arts institution with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.
Computer Science at Knox is a dynamic, growing program, with an orientation towards combining rigorous foundations in experiential education, student research, and collaboration with other departments.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to teaching and learning for a diverse student body in which 16 percent are first-generation college students, 37 percent are domestic students of color, and 18 percent are international students.
Candidates in all areas of specialization are welcome.
The successful candidate should be able to teach a broad spectrum of courses across the CS curriculum.
The position involves a six-course teaching load (two courses in each of three 10-week terms) that includes introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses that are within the candidate’s area of expertise.
In addition to departmental teaching duties, faculty also contribute to the teaching of the college’s First-Year Preceptorial program.
Interest in leading undergraduate student research is highly desirable, as is an interest in interdisciplinary collaborations.
