As our Customs Compliance Officer you will work closely with our Supply Chain teams globally to inform, update, and embed processes for our approach to global operations ensuring compliance requirements are met.
You will contribute to and take ownerships of our business processes for customs review and update SOPs, communicate changes to compliance processes while acting as a point of contact for internal teams and customs authorities.
Some of your responsibilities will include: Ensure that our global supply chain cross-border movement of goods complies with customs and international trade rules and regulations (with particular focus on Tariff Classification, Country of Origin, Customs Duty, and Incoterms) Review, create and update internal SOPs as required, communicating any changes to relevant stakeholders.
Function as Greencoat’s point of contact with Customs Authorities.
Support the regional supply chains with the daily operational issues related to customs clearance, consulting with customs brokers / freight forwarders and providing customs clearance instructions.
Ensure that Greencoat’s import, and export customs entries are obtained and checked for accuracy.
Maintain and update HS classification of products traded by Greencoat, ensuring that HS codes are accurate in the ERP.
Ensure Free Trade Agreement compliance (declarations of origin and Long-Term Supplier Declarations).
Escalate complex customs issues, risks, and changes of requirements to ABF Customs Compliance Manager.
Supports the ongoing training requirements of local points of contact.

To be successful in this role some of the things we are looking for: Relevant qualifications or certificate in Supply Chain, International Trade and or customs with experience of working with customs documentation.
Previous knowledge / skills of working with customs, import and export documentation and processes.
Fluent in English language both written and verbal.
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to learn and keep up to date through ongoing training.
Collaborative skills – able to establish strong & effective working relationships with key stakeholders including 3rd party brokers, suppliers, freight companies and customs authorities.
Strong operational and organisational skills.
Problem solving and can-do attitude.
Integrity and sense of ownership.
Ability to acquire complex knowledge.
Location We are pleased to offer a hybrid work arrangement for this role, allowing for one day per week onsite at our location in Monmouth, Wales.
