JOB SUMMARY
The IPM Manager oversees the facility's efforts to pre-empt, contain and remediate pests and disease in the cultivation area.
The IPM Manager will train and oversee team members to monitor the plants for disease or harmful pests and to respond to threats.
This is achieved by using a range of options from careful examination of plants and the surrounding area, analyzing disease pressure profile, deploying preventative biological controls, and responding to outbreaks.
This position reports to the Director of Cultivation
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
Monitor crop daily to ensure IPM program goals
Oversee preventative plans for facility
Release and monitor all beneficial insects
Monitor facility for pest presence and pressure
Take appropriate action to mitigate and control pest populations
Follow all state regulations in accordance with Pesticide laws
Must be detail oriented
Ensure that all aspects of pest management are safe, clean, and organized.
With management team, helps develop processes and SOPs for the IPM program and role
Compliance with all Lansing Grow policies as detailed in the state-specific handbook and corporate Handbook and Employee Benefits Guide, including workplace conduct, confidentiality and non-disclosure policies
Additional ad hoc projects, tasks, and responsibilities will apply.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's in agricultural field preferred
5+ years of horticultural experience in a commercial cannabis facility or large-scale agricultural facility.
3-5 years of experience with IPM within a commercial cannabis facility or as a consultant
Knowledge in all cannabis media, and basic pesticide and beneficial insect products and brands.
Experience in the fundamentals of plant biology required.
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be and remain compliant with any and all regulatory requirements for working in the cannabis industry
Must obtain and retain a Registered Agent Card issued by the state
Must have excellent organization and time management skills
Must be able to internalize training and follow instructions consistently
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively
Must be able to work effectively as part of a team and grow with the company.
