Hirschbach is seeking Tire Technicians at our Monmouth, IL Truck shop! At Hirschbach you will be responsible for providing superior customer service to meet the safety, and equipment service and repair needs of drivers in a thorough and efficient manner.
*Duties & Responsibilities*
* Remounts wheel onto tractor/trailer.
* Removes wheel from tractor/trailer by hand or by use of tire hoist.
* Locates punctures by visual inspection or by immersing inflated tire in a water bath and observing air bubbles.
* Seals puncture by inserting adhesive material and expanding rubber plug into the puncture, using hand tools.
* Uses mechanical tire changer.
* Reassembles tire onto the wheel.
* Unbolts wheel, using air tools.
* Glues boot (tire patch) over rupture in tire casing, using rubber cement.
* Other duties as assigned
*Talent Requirements*
* Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to complete a job.
* Ability to multi-task and handle varying tasks simultaneously
* Knowledge of the trucking and/or automotive service industry
*Schedule*
* Monday - Friday, 5:30pm-2:00am
*Pay & Benefits*
* $15/hr - $24/hr based on experience
* $2/hr shift premium for 2nd shift positions
* $1,200/annual tool allowance
