Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Will help ensure the efficient operations of the machinery and mechanical equipment Complete PM’s as needed Will trouble shoot electrical problems including PLC’s Performs building maintenance as needed Assists in the controlling of downtime by keeping production informed of potential issues Performs all work in a safe manner and follows all Company and Regulatory standards Communicates effectively with team members Install, assemble and test new machines and equipment; understand and comply with workplace safety regulations.
Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate.
Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.
Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.
Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.
Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
Maintain machinery and the adjacent workplace in a state of appropriate cleanliness; create and maintain a schedule for inspection, service and testing of machinery.
Read and comply with work orders concerning service, modification or installation of machinery.
Work effectively with other team members in a loud environment.
The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTCA Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements: High School diploma or GED required Maintenance or equivalent certification or continued relative education preferred One to three years of relative experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Must be knowledgeable of interaction of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems Excellent mechanical troubleshooting skills needed Number of Direct Reports: None Job Titles of Direct Reports: None Skills and Abilities: Basic shop math skills.
Must be able to pass pre-employment tests.
Basic computer and communications skills needed.
