Directional Drill Operator / Laborer
FS, Inc is seeking an experienced Directional Drill Operator / Laborer to join our team.
This position is responsible for operating and maintaining horizontal directional drilling equipment to ensure accurate and efficient installation of underground utilities and other infrastructure components.
Candidate Responsibilities:
* Operation of equipment, including directional drill, drill head locator, cable locator, mini excavator, loader, Hydrovac excavator, core drill, hammer drill, hydraulic breaker, concrete saw, etc.
* Ensure utility locates are correct and all underground utilities are identified and located before trenching or digging
* Collaborate with site supervisors, project managers and other team members to achieve project goals
* Document and report drilling activities, including, but not limited to, progress and obstacles
* Respect the importance of ensuring Company assets (vehicles, equipment, tools, etc.
) are properly maintained, kept in good repair and are secured in a safe manner
* Perform basic upkeep and maintenance of the equipment and communicate equipment malfunctions or repairs as needed
* Perform all duties adhering to company safety procedures and policies
* Adapt to changing job site requirements and perform additional tasks, as needed
Candidate Qualifications:
* 2+ years of Directional Drill Operating experience
* Willingness to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing job site requirements
* Physically fit and able to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods
* Possess general knowledge of construction practices
* Current driver’s license (CDL preferred, but not required) with a clean driving record
* Current OSHA 10 Certification preferred
* Technical/ Mechanical ability is highly preferred
* High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
* Must be self-motivated and able to work well with others
